Pushing Limits, Inspiring a Nation
Rohtash Chaudhary, widely recognised as the "Push-up Man of India," epitomises resilience, discipline, and unwavering determination. His extraordinary feats in the realm of fitness have earned him multiple Guinness World Records and positioned him as a beacon of inspiration for India's youth.
In a remarkable display of strength and endurance, Rohtash set a Guinness World Record by performing 704 one-legged push-ups in one hour while carrying a weight of 27.875 kg on his back, surpassing the previous record held by Pakistan. This achievement was accomplished at an event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in the presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Further showcasing his exceptional physical prowess, Rohtash performed 743 push-ups in one hour with an 80 lb (approximately 36.3 kg) weight on his back, breaking Spain’s previous record of 537 push-ups.
Rohtash’s journey to these monumental achievements is a testament to his indomitable spirit. After suffering a severe back injury in 2007 that left him bedridden for two years, he turned to yoga and rigorous training to rebuild his strength. His daily regimen included four hours of practice, culminating in his record-breaking performances.
Beyond his accomplishments, Rohtash is deeply committed to promoting fitness and healthy living among young Indians. As a Fit India Ambassador, he actively engages in initiatives encouraging physical activity and well-being, aligning perfectly with STAIRS’ mission to empower youth through sports and fitness.
