India’s premier not-for-profit organization in broadbasing of sports and sports promoter Mayank Pande to jointly work on promoting and transforming sports

STAIRS (Society for Transformation, Inclusion and Recognition through Sports), India’s premier not-for-profit organization in broadbasing of sports today announced the appointment of Mr. Mayank Pande as the Head of the Technical Committee.

Mr. Pande is the Promoter of GoPlaySport, a company aiming to develop & promote second tier sports such as Squash & Cycling in India. He is a Member of the FICCI Sports Committee and therein, Chairs the CSR & Sports Agenda.

Speaking on the Occasion Mr. Siddhartha Upadhyay,member, Governing Body — Sports Authority of India and Founder of STAIRS, said “STAIRS is committed to make India a sporting superpower. Sports is one of the most potent ways to engage society productivity and bring out the potential in budding sportsmen/women. STAIRS has been providing necessary support, infrastructure, and encouragement to underprivileged youth and children to play a sport of their choice. We are proud to invite Mr. Mayank Pandeto STAIRS, whose insight, experience and expertise will guide us forward to achieve our mission.”

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Mayank Pande,GoPlaySport, said “If India has to transform into a Sporting Nation, grassroot and community level development has to be the burning focus. Institutional structures and processes have to be strengthened to create a pipeline of talent for each sport in India. And STAIRS is the right platform to make this happen."

Mr. Mayank Pande has 20 years of experience in the corporate sector. He has led and built service level brands in India. His last appointment was as Partner Advisory & Market Leader with Grant Thornton.
